I was first introduced to Wire Fox Terriers by Bridget, my wife, who along with her father Bernard Mc Larnon (R.I.P.) had a long association with terriers.
In 1992 when we married, Bridget’s pet wire Sheila, accompanied her. Her offspring Sam (Lady Solitaire) was the first wire we attempted to show in 1995. Sam passed away in 2004, but she produced a beautiful wire bitch called Sweet Ballynease (Beauty) who proved to be the corner stone of our kennel.
My intial role in this partnership with Bernard (Barney to his family and friends) was to accompany him to the shows. We were true novices in the spirit of breeding and showing. We continued in this vein until 2000.
At this point we evaluated our participation in the sport and our stock. We decided to take showing wires more seriously.
Our first litter in 2001 produced GB. CH. Cassarnon Maximus. We have continually assessed our stock with a view to improving quality.
We breed approximately one litter per year, where our pups are integrated with our family.
